It is\r\neasy to discern these roots: Black Sabbath, 'Animals'-era\r\nPink Floyd, Blue Cheer, Led Zeppelin and Can. Principal\r\nsongwriter Stephen McBean's vocals are a smoother,\r\nbluesier amalgam of the voices of Neil Young, Mick Jagger\r\nand perhaps James Brown loaded on cough syrup. And\r\nwhen Amber Webber's voice joins Stephen's, the\r\ncombination brings to mind the potency and chemistry of\r\nRichard and Linda Thompson singing together on 'Shoot Out\r\nThe Lights,' or of Meat Loaf and Ellen Foley howling together\r\non 'Bat Out Of Hell.' Musical comparisons aside, the Black\r\nMountain full-length is one part protest song, one part\r\npop-cultural commentary, and one part sick-groove-rock\r\ncasserole peppered with mesmerizing ballads and\r\nintoxicating ditties.\r\n\"Modern Music\" is the lead-off hitter and counts it's way to\r\nthe imposing and riff-rife \"Don't Run Our Hearts Around\".\r\nImmediately thereafter, the sludge-rock masterpiece\r\n\"Druganaut\" establishes the fecund heart and tone of the\r\nrecord. This special 20th anniversary edition of 'Black\r\nMountain' adopts the remastered audio from 2015's\r\nexpanded release, and is available in limited quantity on\r\nclear shadow wave vinyl.\r\n\"A rollicking, wildly adventurous reconfiguring of 1960s and\r\n70s nostalgia that's as duty-bound to the present as it is\r\nsympathetic to the past.\" - Pitchfork, Best New Music [2005]\r\n\"Black Mountain's love for old school rock tropes and it's jam\r\nband tendencies lend it's debut a protective and timeless\r\naura.\" - FLOOD Magazine [2015]\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Alliance Entertainment","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":54875794800986,"sku":"7677308087770","price":9.45,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0977\/2692\/3098\/files\/4451770-3440605.jpg?v=1790663646","url":"https:\/\/groovedeck.shop\/products\/black-mountain-black-mountain-20th-anniversary-edition-vinyl","provider":"My Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
